Frequently asked questions
How much bleed do I need?
Most US printers ask for 0.125" (3.2 mm) on each side; European printers usually ask for 3 mm. Check your printer's specifications.
What size should my file be with bleed?
Add the bleed twice to each dimension. A 3.5×2" business card with 0.125" bleed is 3.75×2.25", or 1125 × 675 px at 300 DPI.
What goes in the safe area?
Keep all text, logos and important details inside the safe area so nothing gets cut off when the print is trimmed.
