Frequently asked questions

How do I check the DPI of an image?

Drop your image into the checker above. It reads the DPI stored in the file and calculates how large the image can be printed at 300, 240, 150 and 72 DPI.

Why does my image say 72 DPI?

Most phones, screenshots and design tools (like Canva exports) save 72 or 96 DPI by default, or no DPI at all. The stored DPI is just a label; what matters for print is the pixel count compared to the print size.

What DPI do I need for printing?

300 DPI is the standard for sharp prints such as posters, wall art and books. 150–240 DPI can be acceptable for large prints viewed from a distance.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The image is read entirely in your browser and never leaves your device.
